LabTrak Schedule-Manager is a software program that provides automated personnel scheduling for hospital, industrial, pharmaceutical, biomedical and reference laboratories. The date files accept information on job types, employees and companywide holidays. The program then accesses these data to assign qualified personnel for each job and to coordinate employee days off and vacations. The program can also automatically rotate personnel according to their skills and the company's needs. The Schedule-Manager allows for managerial and financial forecasting by job or employee. Managers can use the program to select the most cost-effective schedule and to predetermine the dollar cost of a research project. LabTrak Schedule-Manager is fully compatible with IBM personal computers that have at least 284K RAM. The MC3000 Programmable Microstep Controller, which includes the indexer, microstopping motor(s) with 2,000 to 20,000 step! rev. resolution, and the Mode! MD23 drive, can control one to four axes of motion. Interactive programming capability allows for automation of complex and lengthy motion sequences. The indexer features a membrane keypad, alpha! numeric liquid crystal display, non volatile memory and menu-driven control programming. The system is compatible with the manufacturer's other precision motor devices including multi-axis linear and rotary positioning stages. The CelISoft-CASA computer automated semen analyzer systems measure cell count, concentration, concentration motile, percent motile cells, forward progression, velocity and linearity. Its uses include analyzing how cryopreservative and toxicologic agents affects sperm, determining how motion characteristics affect the success of in-vitro fertilization, embryo transfer and artificial insemination, monitoring animal breeding programs and evaluating male contraceptives. The system allows operators to videotape specimens, providing a permanent record for future viewing and comparison studies. Other research modules that interface with the CellSoft system include an automated morphology analyzer, a statistics module, a circular motion analyzer and modules that measure the amplitude of lateral head displacement or the flagellar beat frequency, and that analyze the time, motion and direction of sperm. The manufacturer will assist in program modifications of the system that would enable users to analyze the motion and shape of any cell. Nephroscreen is an enzyme immunoassay designed to detect drug-induced nephrotoxicity. The assay detects adenosine deaminase binding protein (ABP), which in released into the urine following renal injury. The software is compatible with the IBM PC and XT. The computer must have 256K internal memory and an asynchronous serial communications adapter board. These colloidal magnetite particles incorporate covalently bound proteins which retain their native biological activity. Because of their small size, the particles do not magnetically interact with each other and can remain in solution indefinitely. Reversible agglomeration of the particles is possible using specific cations or increases in ionic strength.
