Nanotechnology holds promise for an array of research and therapeutic applications, and researchers at the Indian Institute of Science have designed a new class of them that can work like microscopic tweezers. They applied silver nanoparticles to existing nanobots—artificial swimmers driven by electromagnetic fields—to enable them to collect cargo as small as 100 nanometers in size. They call their invention “nanotweezers.”
