Advancing Respiratory Immunity Through Tissue-Resident Memory T Cell Research

Discover how tissue-resident memory T cells develop within the respiratory tract and how these findings are advancing respiratory virus immunity, vaccine research, and high-throughput immune profiling.

This webinar, brought to you by Miltenyi Biotec, will be hosted live and available on-demand.

Friday, September 18, 2026
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM ET

Tissue-resident memory T cells provide an essential first line of defense against respiratory viral infections, yet the mechanisms that govern their development and long-term maintenance remain incompletely understood. Defining how these protective immune cells establish residency within different regions of the respiratory tract is critical for advancing our understanding of antiviral immunity and informing the design of next-generation vaccines.

In this webinar, brought to you by Miltenyi Biotec, Kirsten Rodgers will discuss new insights into the distinct roles of local antigen and cytokine signaling in shaping CD8⁺ tissue-resident memory T cell development in the upper and lower respiratory tract. The session will also examine how high-throughput immune profiling workflows, enabled by Miltenyi Biotec's StraightFrom Spleen technology, supported the first peer-reviewed publication utilizing this approach while improving efficiency and reproducibility in large-scale immunology studies.

Topics to be covered

  • Mechanisms governing respiratory CD8⁺ tissue-resident memory T cell development
  • Distinct roles of antigen and cytokine signaling in the upper and lower respiratory tract
  • Implications for respiratory virus immunity and next-generation vaccine development
  • High-throughput immune profiling strategies for immunology research
  • Improving workflow efficiency and reproducibility in large-scale animal studies
