Dr. Chris Fang is a physician-scientist with more than 25 years of experience developing new medicines. He currently serves as chief medical officer of MetaVia and has held senior leadership roles at Eli Lilly, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, and several biotechnology companies, with experience spanning early clinical development through late-stage programs. His work in obesity and metabolic disease focuses on questions beyond weight loss, including liver disease, muscle health, cardiovascular risk, and the broader biology of obesity, metabolism, and aging. Dr. Fang’s work also extends to the application of artificial intelligence in drug discovery and clinical development.
