Howard E. Morgan became the new president of the American Heart Association on June 22. M(frgan will continue at the Geisinger Clinic, Danville, PA, in his capacity as director of the Siegfried and Janet Weis Center for Research, as well as continuing to direct the development of a new program of basic investigation into cardiovascular disease.

Peter Bond became the new Chairman of the Physics Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory in July. Bond sees relativistic heavy ion physics as the area of most rapid growth at Brookhaven. He began work on the staff at Brookhaven’s Physics Department doing basic research in nuclear physics in 1972.

Marvin K. Moss has been appointed the new deputy director of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and associate vice chancellor of marine sciences at the University of California, San Diego. Moss will begin his new appointment with Scripps September 9. He will leave his post...
