Pressure from simulated blast waves, similar to those generated by explosives, induced molecular markers of stress and injury within mouse retinas.

    "Our results may explain symptoms of visual dysfunction reported by combat veterans who have experienced [traumatic brain injury]," says senior author Heather West Greenlee of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in a news release.
