Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) is a noninvasive and informative disease biomarker, providing relevant information regarding disease characteristics and origins. Its use in clinical diagnostics was previously limited, but recent improvements in automation and high-throughput screening machinery allow scientists to classify cfDNA rapidly in large patient populations.
