Stem cells provide an attractive, physiologically relevant cellular system for disease modeling and have the potential to play an important role in drug discovery and regenerative medicine. Innovative technologies and strategies are also being employed to assess the role of induced pluripotent stem cells and embryonic stem cells in cell therapy and translational medicine. Technical challenges persist in isolating and deriving stem cells, as well as growing them to model specific conditions for drug discovery or for understanding the repair function of stem cells. This webinar brings together a panel of experts to discuss hope, the hype, and what we can realistically expect to see going forward.
