Stem cells are valuable for neurological disease research and drug development as they permit the in vitro construction of disease models. Human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs), including human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) and human embryonic stem cells (ESCs), offer unique advantages for developmental studies. They can be employed in a patient-specific way to identify molecular lesions and aid in therapeutic development.
