You might think there couldn't be anything new in size exclusion chromatography. Think again. Princeton Separations' CentriSpin columns are the latest addition to a variety of commercially available micro- and
mini-spin columns. Three CentriSpin columns-- CentriSpin-10, CentriSpin-20, and CentriSpin-40, each with a different exclusion point--allow for a variety of applications.


Princeton Separations' CentriSpin Columns
These new columns contain a crosslinked dextran-polymer gel-filtration matrix. By a proprietary technique (presumably involving precise control of the average polymer length and the degree of crosslinking), the exclusion point of the matrix has been manipulated. This has resulted in a series of resins with different properties:

  • CentriSpin-10 allows recovery of up to 75 percent of 11-mer to 25-mer oligonucleotides while eliminating over 90 percent of salts, nucleotide phosphates, and other low molecular weight contaminants. CentriSpin-10 will find uses in oligonucleotide and primer repurification.

  • CentriSpin-20 allows up to 70 percent recovery of oligonucleotides longer than 20-mers...
