May 6 would have been Sigmund Freud's 150th birthday, and 2006 is The Year of Sigmund Freud, according to The International Neuro-Psychoanalysis Center and Society. To celebrate, the New York branch of the Center will be holding an event on the 6th featuring a talk by its founding director, Mark Solms. Later that day, Solms will comment on a display of Freud's early neuroanatomical drawings and later psychological diagrams, never before exhibited, at the New York Academy of Medicine.

If you study sex, the Kinsey Institute wants to hear from you. They're conducting "a research study exploring the experiences of sex scientists interacting with the media," in order "to gain a better understanding of the issues involved in such interactions." They're trying to obtain a large sample. Please keep it clean, and see the study at https://www.indiana.edu/~kinres/kjsres/.
