It's all about who you know, they say, and success in the life sciences is no exception. This section covers networking, mentorship and other resources for people hoping to enter the sciences or those already in the field and seeking to move ahead. We offer tips on finding a mentor – and being one, some key do's and don'ts for networking, a listing of fellowships, grants and organizations of interest to people from underrepresented groups, and much more. We close with a roundtable featuring four leading life scientists, two from industry and two from academia, who discuss their views on diversity, where progress has been made and where gaps remain, and offer some words of wisdom to young people starting out in the field.
