Cell separation plays a vital role in developing therapeutic approaches. Despite its labor-intensiveness and variability, gradient separation remains the primary method for cell isolation due to a lack of viable alternatives. This presents a problem, as gradient separation is a manual process that cannot be scaled to meet increasing throughput demands in both research and hospital laboratories.
