Who hasn't felt a pang of guilt when an empty tip box bounces off the bottom of a trashcan? All of those discarded pipette tip boxes represent wasted resources. Bellco recently introduced the Tipster II. Billed as the premier automatic pipette tip-loading device, the Tipster loads 576 pipette tips--enough for six boxes--in about five minutes.

The components of the patented Tipster include the main box, a collection tray, a template holder, a tip picker, and an antiskid frame. Templates, the 8x12 arrays designed to hold the freshly loaded tips, are tip-manufacturer-specific and are available separately in packs of six.
