Too Many Eyes On The Prize
Regarding Robert L. Brent's commentary in the Feb. 3, 1992, issue of The Scientist [page 12]: The pursuit and awarding of prizes, as Brent describes, serves as a general depressant to the great body of scientists who have not yet clearly differentiated between award winning and scientific distinction.
