After seven years of acting as a center for researchers from other institutions, the Neurosciences Institute will add in-house research to its current programs. An independent organization located on the campus of Rockefeller University in New York, the institute works to encourage interdisciplinary exchange of information in neuroscience. Now the institute is looking for several neuroscientists interested in a two-year appointment as Fellows in Theoretical Neurobiology. According to research director Einar Gall, the institute wants "people with a background in experimental neuroscience who also have an interest in using biologically based models and simulations to study neural functions. The foundation is offering up to 20 nonrenewable, three-year matching grants of $100,000 each. A three-page abstract proposing a project for funding must be postmarked by Oct. 1.
