"We're now the only multicultural group with a liaison to the advisory council of the National Cancer Institute," Jones notes. "We've been instrumental in setting up an office of special populations at NCI as well as meeting with Congress to see about setting up more effective research. This message has gotten through on both sides of the aisle. It gets at who they ask for advice. You can be bilingual but not bicultural."
