Recently, the significance of these results was further enhanced by biochemical evidence showing that RA is present in chick embryos and may play a role in normal limb development. In addition, RA's potential use in cancer therapy was demonstrated through clinical trials that resulted in temporary remission in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia.
