Researchers in physics and in neuroscience have new outlets for showcasing their work, as two new journals make their debut. The American Vacuum Society unveiled its new quarterly, Surface Science Spectra, in June. Journal staff, led by editors Charles E. Bryson III of Surface/Interface Inc., Mountain View, Calif., and Gary E. McGuire of MCNC Center for Electronics, Research Triangle Park, N.C., will archive articles in a new computer database that in the future will also be accessible on compact or magnetic disks. Meanwhile, NeuroImage, focusing on the visualization of neuroscientific data, will debut in the fall. The quarterly, to be published by Academic Press, will be edited by Arthur W. Toga of the University of California, Los Angeles.
