The organization?s 192 member nations had until Tuesday to submit names, from which a shortlist will be drawn up for voting upon at a meeting in November. The names of the nominees were made public by the Chairman of the WHO Executive Board, Fernando Antezana Araníbar. The WHO Secretariat will now translate the proposals and the curriculum vitae of the candidates submitted by the Member States concerned, into the six official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish) and dispatch them to Member States by 5 October.
