WIKIMEDIA, LORDALPHA1The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) is seeking user input as it updates PubMed. With this week’s announcement of PubMed Labs, NCBI launched a protein BLAST update and an “articles frequently viewed together” feature, which directs users to related content based on anonymous click data. According to NCBI, the feature is currently active for 1.3 million of the database’s 24 million indexed abstracts.
“Finding the important articles on a topic can cost a lot of time,” according to the NCBI announcement. With the frequently viewed feature, the resource aims to “help you keep on top of the literature—with a little help from your fellow PubMed users.”
