Turn the Tide on Antibody Screening with Surf-Blot Idea Scientific's Surf-Blot The Surf-Blot Antibody Screening System eliminates the need to cut blots into strips in order to probe with multiple antibodies. A blot is produced as usual and then clamped into the Surf-Blot. The apparatus forms channels on the surface of the blot in which to carry out antibody incubations. After rinsing, the blot is removed from the Surf-Blot, and signal visualization can be performed on the intact blot without lin

In this installment of Bench Buys, we surveyed the market for the lowest price on electroporation cuvettes. Midwest Scientific and Doc Frugal had the lowest prices on cuvettes with their offerings of a pack of 50 for only $99.00. Midwest Scientific distributes EquiBio cuvettes, which are suited for mammalian cells (4-mm gap) as well as bacteria and yeast (2-mm gap). For electroporation of Gram-positive bacteria requiring a high electric field, EquiBio's 1 mm cuvettes can be used with a charge up to 35 kV per cm. Doc Frugal sells cuvettes ...
