Pop Culture Reaches New Heights

Madison, Wis.-based Novagen's new PopCulture™ Reagent facilitates affinity purification of recombinant proteins expressed in Escherichia coli by allowing direct extraction of cells from their culture medium. The PopCulture Reagent employs a mixture of detergents that eliminates the need to collect cells prior to cell lysis; this reduces the total amount of time necessary to complete a purification procedure and allows the entire cell growth and purification process to be completed in one tube. It is therefore ideal for high-throughput applications. The reagent can also be used for direct assay.
