Technophobia has now reached the nation's capital with a vengeance. Millions of Americans will ultimately pay the price for a lack of treatments. Arguably more progressive countries will profit from new discoveries that have been made impossible in the United States by the ban on human cloning. Posing as moralists, these politicians have made America a banana republic with more concern for votes than human lives.
Cloning Ban
The article "Cloning Capsized?"1 was informative as usual. It clearly revealed the irrationality and insensitivity of the politicians involved in the ban on human cloning. Motivated largely by ethnocentric religious bias, politicians are grandstanding for votes rather than taking the lives of generations of present and future patients into account.
