Linda K. The annual award recognizes contributions to radiology in service or research. Olson, a medical student adviser at UC-San Diego, was cited for her dedication to teaching and her clinical skills. She also directs a mammography service at UC-San Diego.

In 1979, Olson lost both legs and an arm in an accident. She took a year off from her residency for rehabilitation and then continued with her residency and fellowship. Olson received her bachelor's degree in biology from Loma Linda University School of Arts and Sciences in 1972, and her M.D. from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1976.
