Analyzing Plasmids with Automated Electrophoresis

Verifying plasmid quality is critical for molecular biology and biomanufacturing applications.

Share

Plasmids are small, circular DNA molecules that are used for genetic engineering, CRISPR applications, gene therapy, pharmaceutical development, and recombinant DNA technologies. Plasmids come in different sizes and conformations, and so confirming and verifying plasmid quality is essential for downstream use. Scientists commonly do this using gel electrophoresis analysis, which can determine plasmid length and conformation based on how DNA migrates within a gel. The Agilent Fragment Analyzer system offers a means to automate plasmid analysis, boosting throughput without sacrificing accuracy.

Why Do We Feel Butterflies in the Stomach?

These fluttering sensations are the brain’s reaction to certain emotions, which can be amplified or soothed by the gut’s own “bugs".
