The birth of Dolly, the first mammal cloned from a differentiated cell, initiated a wave of breakthrough scientific discoveries that enabled scientists to grow stem cells and differentiate them into specific cell types. Since then, researchers developed cutting-edge methods, including 3-D printing, organoid, and organ-on-chip technology, to create better disease models and regenerate tissues for patients. From induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to developing cancer vaccines, the number of stem cell-based treatments continues to grow, bringing us ever closer to a world where scientists can leverage these potent cells to treat, cure, and prevent disease.
