Piecing together components for gel electrophoresis and documentation can be a time-consuming and expensive venture. The components may not be compatible or their performance might not be optimal. With this in mind, Elchrom Scientific AG (Switzerland) has designed the SEA 2000 Submerged Gel Electrophoresis System. The system is distributed in the United States by AMRESCO Inc. (Solon, Ohio).

The SEA 2000 Submarine Electrophoresis Unit
The SEA 2000 is as unique system that allows you to control all variables. The largest applications of the system include microsatellite analysis as well as restriction fragment length polymorphism/random amplified polymorphic DNA and mutation detection including single strand conformation polymorphism, loss of heterozygosity, and heteroduplex analysis. The system consists of the following components:
  • The SEA 2000 Submarine Unit
The SEA 2000 boasts improved linearity of the electric field due to electrode repositioning. A buffer pump and specially designed dams and barriers allow laminar buffer flow....
