(the Philadelphia-based publisher of The Scientist magazine) and BioMed Central Ltd. (a member of the Current Science Group in London) have joined forces with the aim of making The Scientist the most widely read and influential magazine in the life science community.

The Scientist is undergoing a major transformation. With the January 7, 2002 issue, The Scientist will unveil its completely redesigned print format. The current circulation of The Scientist (50,000 copies in the U.S.) will be immediately expanded with an additional 25,000 in Europe and Canada - making it one of the most widely distributed life science magazines in the world.
