BioCision, LLC today announced the availability of CryoPod™ Carrier, a hand-portable solution for the safe transport of valuable biospecimens and temperature-sensitive therapeutics, including immunotherapies and vaccines. The breakthrough technology is the result of a joint development project with Brooks Automation and has already received high accolades from two leading global biobanking organizations – winning both the “2015 New Product of the Year Award” from International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER) and the “2015 Innovation Award” from European Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking (ESBB).

The CryoPod Carrier is a liquid nitrogen (LN2) vapor-based carrier that addresses a previously unmet need in cryogenic sample transport and handling. It provides safe, reliable and portable cryogenic transport for biospecimens at -150°C or lower temperature for more than 4 hours on a single LN2 charge. The carrier replaces unstandardized modes of short cryogenic transport that can result in temperature increases of the frozen ...
