The arts and the sciences are under attack by those who do not understand them. His threatened "I'm a victim" stance does nothing to help his case and makes this black scientist question his motives.

As a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, I am pleased that the association actually has the courage to have a dialogue on the ethical issues that are of concern to all good scientists, and Rushton as well. He would do well to get off of his soap box and listen.
