The solid tumor microenvironment (TME) poses many challenges for the immune system. Altered signaling pathways and metabolic constraints in combination with persistent antigen loads cause T-cell exhaustion, which in turn leads to tumor progression. Various strategies are currently in use and unde development to recover T-cell functionality in the TME. Using small-molecule blockades to enhance T-cell functionality is one avenue that researchers are exploring alongside other advanced adoptive cell therapies. To predict a patient’s response to a therapy and to optimize individual therapies, immune-cell profiling systems can be utilized for polyfunctional analysis. In this webinar brought to you by The Scientist, presented by IsoPlexis, strategies to improve T-cell function in the TME will be explored, and IsoPlexis’ Polyfunctional Strength Index (PSI) will be explained in relation to a range of TME immunotherapy challenges.
