Richard Gallagher joined The Scientist in 2002 with 13+ years of experience in scientific publishing. Gallagher earned his PhD in cell biology from Glasgow University in 1984 for work on lymphocyte adhesion in control of the immune response. After six years as a postdoc, he worked as editor of Immunology Today, senior editor of Science, and chief biology editor and publisher at Nature.
