Geoffroy’s horseshoe bat (Rhinolophus clivosus) collected from a mine in KenyaJENS RYDELL, LUND UNIVERSITY Like many bats, the horseshoe bat Rhinolophus clivosus uses echolocation to navigate and forage. Researchers have found that climatic factors across geographic ranges—such as humidity and temperature—can affect the way these bats use echolocation. The researchers believe that climate change could possibly have an adverse effect on their foraging efficiency.
