An anonymous student claims that University of Oklahoma assistant professor Chad Kerksick performed medical experiments on his students that resulted in pain and bruising. Kerksick was released on leave from the university, and another professor associated with Kerksick has left his position, allegedly in response to the allegations.
The whistleblower, who provided a local news station with the videos of the experiments, said that the students were told to keep quiet about the work. Catherine F. Bishop, a university spokeswoman, told The Chronicle of Higher Education that the TV station’s “portrayal of the events is misleading,” but that the university was conducting an investigation.
