Judy Mikovits, the researcher whose studies on the link between chronic fatigue syndrome and a mouse leukemia virus has been criticized, will not be extradited to face felony charges in Nevada just yet.
The researcher was charged with felony theft by Nevada police after her former institution, the Whittemore Peterson Institute in Reno, Nevada, alleged that she had taken lab notebooks pertaining to her work on chronic fatigue syndrome. In a hearing yesterday (November 22), the judge issued a continuance on the extradition to December 19, ScienceInsider reported. The judge also denied her request to lower the $100,000 bail amount because it was set in Nevada.
