Hundreds of mountain goats from Washington State’s Olympic National Park are being relocated to other forests, reports the Associated Press. Park officials approved the years-long plan in June as a result of which approximately 375 goats in total will be airlifted by helicopters and transported by trucks to the North Cascades mountains. Following decades of efforts to control the non-native population, specialized crews are using tranquilizers and nets to capture the goats and get them on their journey to the Cascades, their natural habitat.
